Farmamerica’s prairie landscape, historic sites, and rural backdrops make the perfect setting for your client’s celebrations, memories, and keepsake photos. It is important to us that we maintain the safety and integrity of our spaces for future visitors. In order to help us accomplish this, we require the following guidelines regarding all commercial and posed photography.

 Posed Photography Policy

Posed Photography must be pre-approved by Farmamerica staff a minimum of 24 hours before a photography session takes place (permission may be granted by email at info@farmamerica.org or by phone at 507-835-2052). A completed Facility Use Guided & Agreement must be signed by the photographer. There is also a required payment of $25 per visit (or $200 for 12 months). Farmamerica must be credited in any promotional material. Farmamerica sites used must be agreed upon between photographer, client and Farmamerica staff prior to the photography shoot to ensure proper access and cleaning. Sites must be left in the same condition as it was prior to use. Access outside normal office hours may be considered and will be taken on a case-by-case basis.

To start your Posed Photography application, complete the permit and return it to Farmamerica or to info@farmamerica.org. Any questions, reach out via email or by phone at 507-835-2052.

Posed Photography Definition

Farmamerica defines posed photography as photography of individuals such as wedding, engagement, prom, family portraits, senior portraits, or the like. This includes wedding portraits and candid wedding shots, commercials, and catalog photography. It also includes amateur photographers acting in the role of a professional photographer. We ask that all photographers who conduct posed and commercial photography contact Farmamerica to purchase a Photography Permit.

Personal Use Photography Definition

Still photography for personal, non-commercial use is permitted throughout the Farmamerica site. All photography must take place during Farmamerica business hours. Restrictions may apply to specific locations around the Farmamerica site. If you are uncertain if photography is permitted, please ask your Farmamerica tour guide or another staff member.
