Homeschool Field Trip

This fall, we’re offering a special homeschool field trip day on September 29th.

The field trip will run from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. During this time, our sites will be open for students to explore at their own pace alongside a parent or guardian. The content of our field trips is designed for students in 2nd-4th grade, but on our homeschool day we welcome learners of all ages. Please note that children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Sites available to visit include:

  • 1850s Homestead: Students learn how life evolved for families during their first few years in Minnesota.

  • One-Room Schoolhouse: Students compare and contrast their schooling experience with that of students from the mid-1900s.

  • 1930s Dairy Farm: Explore the barn and experience live animals. Then, see what a home from this era looked like to contrast to their current homes.

  • Blacksmith Shop: Our blacksmith fires up the forge to demonstrate the job of a blacksmith in the mid-1900s and discuss what blacksmiths do today.

  • Ag Around You Discovery Center: Students use a scavenger hunt to explore how agriculture is part of their daily lives.

The cost is $5 per student (ages 2 and up) and $5 per chaperone.

Please register here. Questions? Email morgan@farmamerica.org.
