The Prairie Interpretive Center, built in 2012, is the most recent addition to the Farmamerica site. The ponds and wetlands associated with the prairie have been restored to the time in Minnesota history prior to settlement of the region by European farm families in the 1850s. We believe that this project is a helpful tool in better understanding the ecological benefits and processes of the prairie. The project is resulting in improvements in wildlife and aquatic habitats, and increase the numbers of native grasses and wild flowers at the site. The interpretive center provides further information about the project.
