Harvest Festival at Farmamerica

Equipment from three eras will be demonstrated. You can join in! There will be hand and horse powered equipment from the 1800's. Then we'll fire up the "putt putts" for some grandpa era equipment. And then... be amazed by the latest techology using precision and GPS to lay down straight rows and place seed exactly where you want it. You could even see a drone circling overhead!
The day will be loaded with demonstrations. The antique farm equipment will running, harvesting corn, threshing oats, baling straw and working the ground. The latest equipment will also be on hand to show off how technology has helped farming evolve from survival to a market economy. Vincent the gypsy horse will be on hand.
Ride the trams around the farm. You’ll be able to visit corn and soybean variety and research plots. The 1930s farmstead has pigs, oxen, mules, chickens, geese and ducks.
Artisans from long ago will be on hand in Peddlers’ Grove making and selling goods of the 1800s. They will also let you join in black powder shooting, hatchet throwing, archery, and a host of craft demonstrations.
Food concessions will be available on site and there will be free Ice Cream samples!
