
Farmamerica is Minnesota's Agricultural Interpretive Center. It teaches people of all ages about our agricultural, food and environmental systems and their impact on our lives. While the facility is intended for use by Farmamerica programming and visitors to the sites, it is available to the public for rental by individuals and organizations.
Fees for 2008 & 2009 are subject to change.
TO RENT
Obtain a facility use permit application from the Administration Office located in the Visitor’s Center.
1. File the application with the office at least seven (7) days prior to the desired use. A $150 deposit is required to hold the facility. The rental party will be obligated to pay the deposit fee if a cancellation occurs less than thirty (30) days prior to the event.
2. Rental fees will be set at the time of application. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of the scheduled rental or the rental party will be liable for the entire rental fee.
3. Fees are due and payable at least fourteen (14) days prior to the scheduled rental.
4. Farmamerica reserves the right to cancel any reservation should the need arise. Cancellations would result if an emergency condition were declared.
Rentals are available Monday through Sunday, from 7:00 a.m. to 12 midnight each day.

Rental fees are based on weekday schedules from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There may be a per hour charge for additional staffing after 5:00 p.m. Other areas that are not shown in the above listing may be included as part of the rental or they may have an additional cost.

MAIC (Farmamerica) does allow liquor on premises during rentals that occur after 5:00 p.m. so long as all requirements of the State of Minnesota and Waseca County relative to use and provision of liquor are met. The cost of renting the beverage bar is $25 plus $25 for each flavor of non-alcoholic beverage used. Please review the alcohol policy included with this information.

AGRICULTURE RELATED NON-PROFIT
Special pricing may be available for agricultural related non-profit institutions and organizations.
Certain rules and regulations are necessary in order to properly protect property owned by Farmamerica. Mutual consideration and cooperation is necessary at all times.
1. Organizations and individuals wishing to rent the Farmamerica facilities will be required to make application for such use and, upon approval sign a contract which shall include a hold harmless agreement in favor of Farmamerica.
2. Farmamerica may require proof of liability insurance from the rental party.
3. Supervisory Responsibility
a) All rentals must have competent adult supervision.
b) A Farmamerica representative will supervise the facility, but not the rental group or its activities
c) Facility renters must provide any special supervision required, (i.e., law enforcement, parking supervision, etc.)
d) Children in attendance as spectators at events are to be properly supervised by members of the user group.
4. Any equipment brought into the building must have prior administrative approval and must be removed promptly following the rental.
5. Equipment provided by Farmmamerica must be applied for at the time of the rental.
6. Either party may cancel building rental permits if there is sufficient reason. See under “To Rent”.
7. The rental party is liable for any personal injury or property damage arising as a result of their use of the property owned by Farmamerica. All renters must promptly clean up after themselves, returning the facility to the original order or pay extra custodial costs to do their tasks. Destroyed equipment must be replaced or satisfactorily repaired by the rental party.
8. All local/state ordinances and laws pertaining to use of buildings must be observed.
9. Gambling is prohibited.
10. Smoking and use of tobacco products in the buildings is prohibited.
11. Permit holders may not assign, transfer, sublet, or charge a fee for the use of the facility to another party.
12. Putting decoration materials of any kind on floors, walls, or parts of the buildings require permission from the administration. Glitter or confetti of any kind is prohibited.
13. A Farmamerica staff representative will be present at all events. However, he or she is not responsible for the actions of the group and shall have the right to immediately terminate the event if a violation of the rules, regulations, or alcohol policy has occurred. Such violation will result in loss of the security deposit and fees and the assessment of additional costs to Farmamerica arising from such violation.
Farmamerica does not have any type of liquor license. Accordingly, any provision of or use of liquor on the premises must comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the State of Minnesota and Waseca County. Failure to abide by such rules and regulations will result in the immediate termination of the right to rent the Farmamerica premises and forfeiture of all deposits and fees paid for use of the premises. In addition, the following rules apply.
1. Rental groups always assume responsibility for their actions while using Farmamerica’s facilities, especially when alcohol is consumed on Farmamerica property and shall hold Farmamerica harmless from any liability or expense arising therefrom.
2. Consuming alcohol in any form (beer, wine, or liquor) on Farmamerica during operating hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) will not be allowed.
3. The following additional conditions must be met if alcohol is to be consumed on Farmamerica property.
A. The organization, company, or individual renting the Farmamerica facilities must furnish a “Certificate of Insurance” confirming host liability coverage of the event, including the serving of beer, wine, or liquor, with the name of liability insurer, name and address of company and agent, and amount of coverage which shall not be less than $500,000. Farmamerica shall be included as an additional insured under said policy for purposes of the event in question. This must be received at least two weeks prior to the event.

B. The organization, company, or individual renting the Farmamerica facilities must furnish name and phone number of the professional caterer furnishing and serving the alcoholic beverage. The caterer must furnish a “Certificate of Insurance” at least two weeks prior to the event confirming the same specifications set out in paragraph 2A.
C. The rental party must designate a bartender and report this name to Farmamerica prior to the event.
D. No liquor can be sold on the property. Selling liquor includes receiving donations and the tipping of the bartender.
4. The organization, company, or individual (including professional caterer) contracting the use of the Farmamerica facilities shall assume full responsibility to NOT ALLOW MINORS TO CONSUME ALCOHOL, NOT ALLOW AN INTOXICATED PERSON TO DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE ON OR FROM FARMAMERICA PROPERTY and NOT ALLOW AN INTOXICATED PERSON TO INJURE ANOTHER OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AFTER HAVING BEEN FURNISHED OR SERVED ALCOHOL AT FARMAMERICA and shall hold Farmamerica harmless from any liability or expense, therefore.
